Happy New Year

I'm writing this from Canberra, having spent Christmas and New Year in Sydney. I'm still coming to terms with the loss of friends from Phi Phi Island, but trying to focus on helping those friends of mine who have been left with nothing. Despite everything, I made the most I could of the celebrations, knowing that the friends no longer with us, would have been horrified to think of me constantly mourning them. In fact I know they'd be there with mekhong, or sangsom in hand, to lead me astray. For those of you who don't know, they are particularly potent thai whiskies!! I'm thinking of doing something to raise money for my thai friends who treated me like family whilst I was there, looking after me when I was sick and feeding me when I didn't have much money. They were and are, remarkable people, to whom I now feel I can repay their kindness. I'm going to try and print some of my photos from travels, and make them into cards or something... If anyone has any ideas, or would be interested in buying something like this, please let me know! Either e-mail me, or use the comments! Also, please feel free to leave a message so that I know how you are all getting on!

Well enough of my yacking, I'm off to Melbourne tomorrow, then the Great Ocean Road next weekend! Before I return to Perth again. I wish everyone a safe, healthy and prosperous 2005!

Much love, blinky bill's cobber! x
