I've finally seen where the Southern & Indian Oceans meet!
Just arrived back from a three day trip with Ben down to Albany, Pemberton, Margaret River and Busselton amongst other places! It was awesome! The company he works for (Western Xposure - www.westernxposure.com.au) organise different tours in WA & NT (Northern Territory), so I jumped onto one of their buses and headed south with him. It was a pretty full on few days with lots of places to see, and very early starts, but well worth the wait because the South West corner of WA is incredible. Even though the weather was pretty cold in Albany - maybe this was prep for New Zealand, it still looked fabulous, especially the panoramic views you got from up Mount Clarence.
The Valley of the Giants tree top walk was pretty scary, being that I'm not a big fan of heights and all, plus the fact the walk ways swayed a little as people used them and that you could see through the steel mesh work bridges to the forest floor below! Despite the slightly browned underwear, the vista was great from up there, it was like being a bird in the trees and seeing the entirety of the area from a completely new perspective. Funnily enough though, I didn't climb the Bicenntenial tree - I'm crazy, but that just looked plain bonkers!
The beaches we saw were beautiful - in all weather, but when the sun was out, the turquoise colour of the water really shone and of course it was warmer! Visiting the beaches just outside Margaret River was breathtaking as usual for me and we were lucky enough to be there just as the Salomon Surf comp was underway - meaning a good perv chance on all the local fit amateurs practising up the road!
Oh and of course Busselton Jetty was a sight and a half - it looked as though it never ended! The photos have turned out quite well i think!
Right, well since I was working Paddy's day night, and have spent the day (and yesterday morning) working off all the beers from the mini holiday I was on, by cleaning houses and having only 4 hours sleep between work at the pub last night and today's domestic fun! - I must go to bed and rest the eyes...
Well hope you're all looking after yourselves,
sweet dreams,
love K xxx
