Back with Ben in Brissie

Leaving New Zealand was hard; isn't everytime I move on somewhere??? But at least this time I was going on to something even more exciting - I was going to be back with Ben!!! We both flew into Queensland - Brisbane airport on the 18th July and were met at the airport by his brother Tim.

After a couple of hours drive, we were at his parents farm in Stanthorpe on the Queensland/New South Wales border, in the Granite Belt, where wine making is once again a local feature!

I was a little nervous to say the least at meeting Ben's folks, but they were both lovely and welcoming - not that I expected any different, but you never know... it didn't help that I'd seen Meet the Fockers and Guess Who - both films about meeting the "in laws", just before I arrived.

We had a great week - it was really interesting experiencing their Christmas in July!! Winter is cold enough to do the "proper" Christmas stuff - such as eating roast dinner and Christmas Pud, without feeling like you were going to sweat to death!
After the peace of the farm, I wasn't sure if I really was ready to go back to the busy London burb of Bromley....
