Fishing with Ma and Darren

This was perhaps my best weekend in New Zealand!!!! The fishing being only the tip of the iceberg. Catching Snappers off the beautiful islands of the Hauraki gulf in the glorious sunshine, whilst a band of rain circled us in the distance but left us with little more than some frisking gusts...

I am proud to say I was the winner of both first and biggest catch of the day, with my eel which eclipsed a metre in length... sadly Darren threw it back before Ma and I got a chance to even think about smoking it - in an oven that is!!! Perhaps Darren just didn't want to be beaten by a woman (he later changed the rules to the first and biggest KEPT catch! - Only because we're so good at drinking game challenges!)

A big thank you to both Ma and Darren for organising the trip - you guys rock!
