From the valleys of Wiltshire to the Highlands of Scotland

Once again it has taken me a while to get back on here and update what I've been doing! In my defence it's not really my fault, as internet access has been somewhat limited in the past few months. So, where have I been since I got back to British shores.

After Ben and I spent a few weeks with the family and friends in Kent, we headed to the South West of England, close to the border of Somerset and the city of Bath to work in a pub. For some reason I was entrusted with the kitchen and spent my days cooking for the pub restaurant, which was pretty cool. Ben was in the bar, so although we were living together, we had a bit of separation!! After a couple of months, we headed back to Kent so I could catch up with the family and Ben flew over to Germany to spend a few days with his relatives in the South.

So where are we now....

Well you'd never believe it but we both got jobs on a salmon farm, almost at the very top of Scotland in the North West - a place called Drumbeg, which is between Ullapool and Scourie... I think our house is shown on one of the websites about Drumbeg, anyway, it's next to the Viewpoint, so you can imagine what we see every day.

There are lochs to the front and back of the house, between which are the mountains of the highlands, so we're lucky to have such spectacular surroundings... We also have some friendly local sheep which come to mow our lawn every few days!!!

Work on the salmon farm is interesting, and still very new! We are now working monday - Friday from 8am-4.30pm, so it's civil for a change. The farm has several sites at sea and in sea lochs, and so far we've been mainly feeding the salmon, pulling up the dead and harvesting - a whole story in itself!! Other than that, it has been a case of securing the moorings and pens from the 100mph gales which have been sweeping through this area recently.

The photos i've just uploaded are mainly from our time in Wiltshire and Somerset, with a few from day trips with my parents or Jen and her kids.

Happy First Birthday to my Goddaughter Ellyn!!!

If anyone fancies a trip north, let us know - our mobiles don't work so well out here as we don't get much signal, but we are hooked up to the net now.

Hope you are all well, don't forget to let me know how you're all going!

Oh and once again congrats to the Poms for some great rugby (and footie - and cricket) last weekend! I celebrated and Ben drowned his sorrows with a few (too many) Highland Parks in Inverness on Saturday night.

Hoping to have some photos of the area up here soon, until then, keep safe and merry!
